Do you take credit cards?
Yes! I take all major credit cards. I process with Square which is completely safe and secure.
Do you have gift certificates?
I certainly do! Gift certificates are available for any service or dollar amount and I can take care of them for you in shop, over the phone, or online here.
How do I get in to your new space?
Park on the street (if you park in the lot you could be towed, so please don't! There is a ton of street parking and it's all free!). Head to the elevator, which is across from the main office (there are signs!) and buzz unit 218. I will beep you in. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, and then turn right and follow the numbered doors till you reach unit 218 and come on in! :)
How far out are you booked?
I am currently booked 3-4 weeks out for day-time appointments, and 4-6 weeks out for evening & weekend appointments. I post a current list of openings for the week every Sunday or Monday.
What is your cancellation policy?
- If you are running late, please call. Under 10 minutes usually isn't a big deal. 10-15 minutes we may have to abbreviate your service or not completely dry/style, and 15+ minutes late you will need to reschedule, which will require prepayment.
- If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please give me at least 48 hours notice. With less than 48 hours notice, a fee of 50% of your appointment will need to be paid for to rebook. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or don't show up, the missed appointment must be paid for IN FULL to get on the books again. Please know that due to availability, if you cancel it may be 4+ weeks until you are able to get back on the book during your preferred day of the week and time
I understand that emergencies happen - I totally understand that and can be more lenient! But things like drinking too much the night before or deciding to take off camping shouldn't effect someones business.
Why is shampooing every day bad for my hair?
Your hair and scalp are meant to have a certain amount of natural oil on them. When you are shampooing every day, you are stripping away those oils and your scalp can go into overdrive making extra - resulting in oily hair. It takes some definite getting used to, but I don't recommend shampooing more than 2-3 times a week, ESPECIALLY if your hair is colored. Most people not only shampoo incorrectly (shampoo should only go on the scalp - it will clean your hair while it rinses through. Conditioner should not go on the 2" closest to the scalp - your natural oils will do all the conditioning you need there!) but they also use water that is way too hot - opening up the cuticle and just washing their color down the drain.
Aren't dreadlocks gross?
Nope! Well, not if you take care of them. As long as you keep yourself clean and healthy, your dreads should be clean and healthy. Some people wash them all the time, some never have - everyone's hair is so different, that how everyone takes care of them is different! You can always tell who takes care of their dreads and who doesn't.
I've dyed my hair black and want to go blonde. Why is this going to take multiple visits? Can't you just put some blonde dye on it?
Corrective colors take time and expertise. Color will not lift on hair that has been colored - if I were to put blonde color on dyed black hair, the virgin roots would turn blonde, but the dark color would remain unaltered. I don't recommend doing bleach & tones on anything but virgin hair. Color, while it may fade and look like it isn't there anymore, stays in the hair until it is cut off. Usually the best way to go about this is gradually, with highlights, until a blonder look is achieved. There is no magic wand I can wave (though sometimes I really wish there was!)
Why do you require deposits for dread and extension appointments?
These appointments take up big blocks of time, and unfortunately, I have had too many people decide to just not show up. The amount of your deposit is applied to the total cost of your service.
